Privacy Policy

Gold Signal ("Gold Signal," "we," "our") operates a free price-tracker and economic-news alert mobile application and the website at goldsignal.org (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.

1. Data we collect

• Push notification token. A device-issued identifier used to deliver alerts you have asked for. We do not link this token to a name, email, phone number, or other identity.
• Alert thresholds. The price level, percentage, or time you ask us to watch for. Stored server-side so alerts fire even when the app is closed.
• Coarse locale. Which of the five UI languages (en/zh-Hans/es/ar/th) you use. We use this to send notifications in the right language.
• Device language and OS version. Inferred from standard request headers to keep the experience compatible.
• Crash diagnostics. When the app crashes we log the stack trace so we can fix the bug. No personal data is included.

2. Data we do NOT collect

• We do not access your contacts, photos, or media library.
• We do not collect your precise location.
• We do not require an account, email, or phone number.
• We do not sell your data to anyone. Ever.
• We do not run third-party advertising or behavioural tracking.

3. How we store data

Data is stored in encrypted storage on Cloudflare's global edge network. Push tokens and alert thresholds live in Cloudflare D1 (a SQLite-backed database). Logs are retained for 30 days for debugging purposes, then automatically deleted.

4. Subprocessors

We rely on the following service providers to deliver the app:

• Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) — global CDN, edge compute, and database storage.
• OneSignal, Inc. (USA) — push notification delivery.
• Apple Inc. (USA) — Apple Push Notification service.
• Google LLC (USA) — Firebase Cloud Messaging for Android devices.
• TwelveData (USA) — real-time price data feed.

Each subprocessor receives the minimum amount of data needed to do their job. None receive your alert content.

5. Your choices

• Disable notifications at any time in iOS or Android system settings. The app continues to work for price tracking.
• Set quiet hours in the app to suppress notifications during a window you choose.
• Request deletion of your push token and any stored thresholds by emailing support@goldsignal.org from the device you want deleted, or by uninstalling the app (uninstall fires a server-side delete within 7 days).

6. Children

Gold Signal is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

7. Changes to this policy

If we make a material change we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, when meaningful, push a notification to active users.
